The UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) makes public and private finance work for the poor in the world’s 46 least developed countries. UNCDF offers “last mile” finance models that unlock public and private resources, especially at the domestic level, to reduce poverty and support local economic development.
The Pacific Insurance and Climate Adaptation Programme (the Programme) is a new initiative of the UNDF, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme and the United Nation University Institute for Environment and Human Security. The focus for the Programme is on developing innovative, inclusive insurance and climate disaster risk financing instruments in the Pacific.
VSA is currently recruiting for a Country Coordinator to work for the Programme in Vanuatu for a two year fixed term in-country assignment. The purpose of the role is to provide the following expertise:

This work is pioneering for Vanuatu as at present, as there are no climate disaster risk financing (CDRF) instruments offered in Vanuatu or in the Pacific by insurers or service providers that targets individuals, households, MSMEs, cooperatives at the micro to meso level.
