Job Title: Director, Physical Plant

This position reports to the Vice President Business and Administrative Affairs and is responsible for directing the total rehabilitation, maintenance, repair, and operations program of the College’s buildings and facilities that support the efficient delivery of its services. The Director will ensure through the PPD’s construction and maintenance programs that the physical resources at all college locations offering courses, programs and learning support services are safe, secure and healthful.
Under the direction of the VPBAA, the incumbent will lead the development of plans to maintain and upgrade physical resources including facilities, equipment and the physical environment of the college. This includes putting in place and maintaining a master planning framework for the college in collaboration with stakeholders. At all times the Director must ensure that all physical resources are regularly maintained and kept in an efficient working condition that supports the effective delivery of all college operations. This includes maintaining a regular maintenance program and undertaking regular evaluation and reporting to meet the College’s institutional and accreditation standards.
With the help of two Assistant Directors, the Director has overall responsibility for the general supervision of the PPD staff providing direction and leadership for the day to day operations of the department. This includes overall leadership and responsibility for matters related to employee performance, welfare and discipline in the department. The Director is responsible for the management and administration of the departmental budget including reporting requirements and the maintenance and safekeeping of college assets.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelors’ Degree in such fields as engineering, architecture and extensive (10+ yrs) relevant Experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA or a related field.
• Three-years initial contract
• Transportation from the point of hire to the Marshall Islands
• Moving in allowance of USD $2,000.
• Up to $9,000 housing allowance.
