DT Global is the managing contractor of the Pacific Horticultural and Agricultural Market Access Plus program (PHAMA Plus) – an Australian and New Zealand Government funded aid program promoting primary industry exports from Pacific Island countries. Under the Pacific Agreement on Closer Economic Relations (PACER Plus), PHAMA Plus is providing support to Cook Islands to facilitate international trade in agricultural and other primary products. Requirements

We are seeking a locally engaged Industry Development Coordinator - Cook Islands for a short-term consultancy assignment that will provide a maximum of 15 days of inputs spread over from November 2021 to February 2022. Inputs will be agreed, based on a workplan that will be developed at the start of the engagement. Location will be Cook Islands, working from the Cook Islands Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) and home-based.

 

The Industry Development Coordinator will be engaged to develop a charter and criteria for the selection of members to the Cook Islands Agriculture Advisory Group (CIAAG) under the MoA, and to further consider appropriate and value-adding working arrangements between the CIAAG and the National Trade Development Committee (NTDC).  The Industry Development Coordinator will also develop a work plan in close consultation with the relevant contacts at the MoA and key stakeholders from the private sector and PHAMA Plus.

 

Applicants should have Tertiary qualifications in a related field.  In addition, applicants should have sound professional experience in a relevant area or the equivalent combination of education and experience in industry and organisational development. Some knowledge of agriculture, horticulture or the food sector would be desirable, as would networks with local organisations and businesses in these sectors.
